Winners of the "Best Community in America" and "Best Community Facility in America" by the National Association of Home Builders, Hampton Lake is an all-ages, highly amenitized lifestyle community that offers homes and memories for everyone!
Hampton Lake was originally conceived as a golf community, but then we listened closely to what our buyers, especially women, told us they wanted. That was a momentous decision that led to the Hilton Head Island area’s first private lake community and national recognition as 2008’s “Best Community in America” by The National Association of Home Builders and Professional Builder Magazine.
The golf course was shelved (knowing we could offer memberships at our nearby golf communities) and in its stead we built a 165-acre freshwater lake that was the perfect starting point for a family-friendly, casual living, all-ages community. To the lake we added an outstanding selection of amenities (constructed upfront) in a Lakeside Village, including a resort-style pool with a lazy river, clubhouse with indoor and outdoor gathering places, and lakefront restaurant and poolside bar, Har-Tru clay tennis courts, impressive fitness and spa facilities, a sandy beach, and a boathouse complete with covered boat docks and a tackle shop. In 2007, Lakeside Village was recognized as “America’s Best Community Facility.”
The well-stocked lake is the epicenter of the 900-acre community with seven miles of navigable waterways, abundant fishing and 15 miles of shoreline. But residents also enjoy an additional 345 surrounding acres of nature preserve, nine miles of nature trails, a lakeside overnight campsite, and the region’s only dog park.
Perhaps our most important achievement at Hampton Lake, though, is the creation of a community that embraces the joy and vitality that comes from a close-knit community made up of young families, retirees, grandchildren and grandparents alike. In short, a place for everyone.
